Today I worked on the usual things in the morning and was half way through milking the cows when John Carlos needed my help. We took a truck to this field where there were piles of this sugar cane I believe. We loaded it up and took it to the pigs. Once we got to the pigs, Luis put me to work and I got to know him a little bit better. Luis was in charge of the pigs and very good at his job. He is a short skinny tico who always has a big grin on his face because he’s joking about something. He always has a joke or something to tell me and will explain anything that I don’t get and keep trying until I do. I helped Luis with feeding the pigs and then with putting the rest of the food into a metal container. This metal container was like a huge pot and there was a flame under it. EARTH has a program were every building recycles, so all the wasted food is put into heavy duty plastic bags and taken to the pigs. After the food is put into the container, water is added to make it into a stew. Salt and different minerals are added and there ya have it, high class food for the pigs. After work I practiced yoga at my house for about 45min and then felt relaxed. Then, I went to the cafeteria for dinner. Then around 7pm, went to my first class of Karate. It was nice but im pretty sure fighting is not my thing. I just wasn’t that motivated to do anything that involved high kicks which made your body sore after. After class I went to bed.
